Biography

Charnette Messé was born on August 26, 1970, and is from New York. She is a brilliant young woman with a diverse range of talent. She is an accomplished actress, dancer, choreographer, writer, poet, women's health advocate and a powerful public speaker. She has a Bachelors Degree in Theatre from the University of West Florida where she studied under 25 year Broadway veteran and Soap Opera Director Ron Roston. She studied dance at Bernice Johnson Cultural Art Center in New York and has worked in her professional acting career with Director/Playwrite Michael Bradford (Living in The Wind).

Charnette Messe after receiving the Louie award Charnette Messé is the founder of the Dare to Dream Dance Company and the Greeting card company Charnette Messé Embracing Life. Messé's unique handmade cards feature her own poetry, prose and designs. On May 21, 2001, Messé won the Oscar of the Greeting Card Industry Louie Award at the 13th Annual Louie Awards International Greeting Card Competition. Her cards have graced the famous New York Central Park Restaurant Tavern on the Green the very elegant Plaza Hotel, and the Hotel Bel Air in Beverly Hills California as well as several other well known businesses throughout the United States including Martha's Vineyard.

Charnette with the host of Good Morning AmericaShe has performed in numerous dance performances with her student's which include The Josie Robertson Fountain Plaza at Lincoln Center in New York, Universal Studio's Florida, The National Museum of Naval Aviation and the Nautilus Submarine Museum. On June 1, 2001 she and her dance students were introduced and spoke on ABC's Good Morning America.

Messé teaches children and people of all ages that nothing is impossible as long as they have the courage to dare to dream. Her dance company and her greeting card business were created from her own imagination and determination to achieve the impossible.

Winners of a Beautiful in Pink gift give awayIn February 2002, Messé was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31 the day after her diagnosis was confirmed she learned she was pregnant with her second child Messé continued to remain strong in her message that Life though unpredictable is beautiful. In November 2004, Messé created Beautiful in Pink designed to embrace women with breast cancer and bring awareness to those not diagnosed. Her life and accomplishments have been the focus in several news media including an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show on October 2, 2002.

Messé hopes her greatest role will be as a Mother to her beautiful daughter Gabrielle and her son Christian and as a wife to her husband Navy Lieutenant Commander and Family Practice Physician Thomas Messé. Charnette Messé is motivated to embrace life and inspire the world to realize that life is precious, beautiful and our most delicate asset.
